Why Durham?
Because we’re here.
A community of talent, ambition and possibility. CLAN starts in Durham to help turn that potential into shared economic opportunity.

Demographic figures describe 2021, not today’s population. The Durham Region Profile was published in October 2024; CDCD’s Community Lens was published in Fall 2025. “Racialized” refers to the broader population described in the source, not only Black residents.
The municipality chart uses the Black population counts in Durham Region Profile, Appendix Table 2.3. Shares are calculated as each municipality’s count divided by the regional Black population of 66,035, rounded to one decimal place. They are not the percentage of each municipality’s population that is Black. Census counts may be rounded.
CLAN’s program rationale is our interpretation of the evidence; the sources do not evaluate or endorse CLAN.
